  • Replacing the Instrument Cluster

I have a 1995 chevy camaro B4C special services package from the FBI. The odometer is acting up and was going to replace the whole cluster. I noticed no one can get a new one. I did however find a new overseas version with the KPH. Will that work in my car and or can I have it set up to work in my car?

    Thanks

Why don't you pull a used one out of a junkyard? It should work, worst case scenario you will have to swap over your circuit board as well.

Will junk yards sell them? It's kinda illegal to change. You have to install a mileage label on the car or the way we have to do it on some is hold the car and have the mileage preprogrammed

I've bought 2 of them off fleabay (99+ though), so they are out there.

Like Kevin, I've bought multiple gauge clusters off eBay with no issues. Once you have the replacement gauge cluster in hand, call a local dealership and ask who they use to reprogram the odometer readings. They have to have a service when they are replacing gauge clusters and need to program the odometer to the correct setting. Said company should then be able to walk you through what they need you to do to program the odometer to the correct mileage.

I, personally, just have a spreadsheet documenting what the ODO was before I replaced my gauge cluster. My current gauge cluster reads like 30,000 higher than true body miles, but since I'm never going to be selling the car I haven't worried about it.

I'd think these should be fairly readily available with LT1 folks converting to the LS1 style dash. I'd ask around on here or on tech, someone probably has one gathering dust that you could get for a steal.
