  • Had my insurance appraisal done yesterday...

He rated it at a 3+ (between good and excellent) and valued it at $16k. I am happy with that, as long as my insurance co. is....

$140 for an hour's work. I am in the wrong business....

Do you have more mods than what your sig says? Is that in Canadian or American $$?

If its American then my car is vastly underinsured.

Well the CDN and US dollar are virtually identical in value right now, so that is a wash.

I needed the appraisal to get that value of replacement insurance, otherwise they would try to give me book value in the event of a write-off, which would probably be around $4k I would think.

Just in the process of explaining to my insurance carrier that their premiums are $300 a year too high.....I think they are finally getting it. I sent them 2 other competitive quotes.

Most insurance companies dont want to insure modifications. At least I havent found any that do.

Have you tried Auto Owners? I went back and forth with my agent for a while when selecting a company and made it very clear to him the amount of money that's into my car and that most of it was in the engine/driveline. He swears up and down that if I have receipts for everything they're pretty good about covering it.

I have debated on getting my 2003 Mercury Marauder appraised... The number of them are dwindling fast!!!

A new front bumper can not be had, nor a rear in case of accident. Best deals are in the $1300 range for a used cover!!!

Good work on finding a company and agent whom is willing to work with you on insuring at replacement costs!!!
