LT1 guys chime in on what exactly you did to remove the EVAP?

Just remove the canister in the rear, remove the solenoid up from and pull the vacuum port on the intake manifold?

I removed the EGR from behind the intake, used blockoff plates from eBay, AIR pump from next to the coil, and put on race headers without the EGR/AIR connection. Also got a tune to compensate for everything. Also have no cats.

I already deleted the EGR and AIR.
EVAP is different than those two.
EVAP is used to trap hydrocarbons coming from the gas tank.

SHUSH! You're just going to make my day worse. This fuel pump swap is turning out horrible.

I crimped the purple wire. Still couldn't get it into the new connector. So I pulled the black and gray wire out of the new connector and put them into the old one. Figured out the purple one is installed 180 degrees from the black and gray wire. So long story short I ended up jacking up the purple wire and crimping it a few more times, might be to short and have to make a new wire and get the wedge connector, also ripped a terminal off the gray the wire so now I have to get a bigger terminal to fit the bigger wire.

          Just wonderful.

In good news the Russell AN fittings for the rail worked. It could of been I was trying to install the Jegs ones wrong as they came with no directions so you can try them if you want and if they work on your rail I can give them to you for cheap. (They cost like 15 a pop I think).

Ha I agree, I haven't been a fan of this project at all.

In my experience at work when working on a critical system, we ALWAYS shell out the extra cash to get a product that eliminates margin of error rather than botching some non-standard contraption together. I would have gladly shelled out the extra money for a complete sending unit. Its what ive done for every other vehicle ive replaced a fuel pump. But apparently the LT1 market still consists of shadetree mechanics that are more interested in saving a buck than having a reliable car. Its this kind of stuff that makes me want to buy a corvette.

Haha well I am going to fix it right. Its just going to take me longer than expected. Crimping is easy just need to get the right terminals to do it and I have lots of all gauges of wire.

For the AN lines, just need to cut holes by the booster, I have grommets now. Run the lines, strap them up and thats it. Should take a day at most for that.
