  • LT1 spark plug recommendation

Hey guys, I think it's about time the spark plugs get changed in my car. I have heard mostly bad things about Bosch. I am thinking either NGK TR55 IX or AC Delco 41-943. Anyone got any recommendation or are these good. Mine is a stock LT1. Thanks in advance.

Yeah I had the Bosch +4 's and I didnt like them. Your safest bet is probabaly the AC Delco's. Thats what I used last time and I havent had a single problem. Although I am a bit curious about those E3 ones. www.e3sparkplugs.com

The problem with those multi prong spark plugs is that their vitually impossible to gap properly, and I dont care what the spark plug company says, I have never had a spark plug that was gaped right, right out of the box.

I just changed mine this summer. I used the NGK's from Advance Auto. They have worked great. I have the Bosch in my truck and they aren't that great. I also upgraded the ignition coil (Hypertech). I noticed the engine running alot smoother with the new coil. If you are changing them yourself get a 3/4 or 1 inch extension. I don't know if I would have been able to change them without one. Good luck.

I put this in another thread but here it is again.

I've never tried this but a mechanic told me the easy way to do the spark plug on our cars is to take the front wheel off then remove the plastic wheel well then you have easy access to the spark plugs.

i have heard you are not supposed to gap the platnium plugs. But tr55's are the best for the LT1's LS1's
