  • Took the SS to the Track.

I was all over the place couldnt keep the car straight and couldnt hook untill about halfway though second even if I would let off the gas peddle and get back one it. Still was very happy with my best time, I think if I had a Set of E/T radials I would get a 13.1-13.0 if I could hook lol. My SS is the car that I bought to use for a swap into my v6 camaro. Its a SS with a mm6 and 3.42 all stock.

    Best time to worst time.

Frame damaged on the SS? Id try to fix it personally, two cars are worth more than one. But no use investing in a dead horse either. It sounds like a uniquely optioned car and looks like it runs strong!

IMO that wouldnt stop me. Fourth gens are already all minimum 10 years old, so youre pretty much buying based on condition. Ask a first gen owner if they wouldnt pull a 69 SS out of a junk yard over a salvage title. It may be a wash in the market right now, but i think time will change that. Document the damage and be honest, i bet it sells fine.

Actually, have you checked the RPOs to see if this SS is a 1LE? Its very possible with all those option deletes.

As much as I'd hate to see the SS "die", I have to agree with this - unless you're really in love with the car and are willing to drop a good $4k-$5k into body work to have it done right.

This cost $6,200 - yes, it included the minor front end damage (all labor, no parts) and repaint, but the bulk of it was the quarter repair. And, although the quarter was hard to find, it wasn't expensive, so I'd expect a similar price on your car:

Don't know much about the 1LE, but isn't that a factory package (not SLP)?
