  • A+ for JEGS Oil Pickup Tube Retainer

Changed the oil in Red Alert today after 5k miles since having the oil pickup tube incident back in April 2011. I was really pleased to see the oil pickup tube was still firmly planted in the oil pump and still at the same level that I had it when I installed the pump. I 100% attribute it to the JEGS Oil Pickup Tube Retainer keeping it all in place since we didn't weld the tube to the pump.

Heck, even the downtown Detroit streets couldn't knock it off.
When in doubt, Whip it out !

Yup - that's what really amazed me! It's held for a little over a year now, 5k miles, and that heavy impact.

How do you see in there?

Shined an LED flashlight into the drain hole. Not much of a viewing hole but the pickup tube's screen is right next to the hole so as I looked from different angles I could see the bottom of the pickup tube screen and could see it was still level

Yeah there's tons of room. I was tempted to try dropping it but I figured I wouldn't be able to get the pan to clear the pickup tube.
