  • wat valve springs should i use?

The 918's will fit stock heads, I think the 986's require the spring pockets to be machined. I'm pretty sure I used Lunati 73815K5 with my custom ground Comp Cam (.575/.585 lift) but I'm running aftermarket heads

EDIT: That was for my old SBC heads. I'd have to look up installed height and seat pressures to see what would be better for an LT1

918 are single beehives and tons of people run them with the cc306, they will handle that cam into high RPM's and you won't have to worry about machining the pockets

Don't just toss a set on and call it good though. Work with a good cylinder head guy to get proper spring height and seat pressures, as well as proper geometry. I had to run +.100 stem valves to get springs squared away. Proper pushrod lengths will keep the geometry in check (centered on the valve tip)
