She's FINALLY running!!!

For all of you were helping me try and figure this car out, I appreciate it, you know who you are. Upon talking to Keith Wenzel at pcmforless.com, i was informed that you have to tune the EGR out on OBD2 cars if ti's deleted, or they just won't run... I did not know this OBD1, you don't have to, which is why a lot of people on here weren't considering the EGR to be the problem, they had OBD1 cars.So upon getting my PCM back from Keith, i plugged it in, and it fired right up. Normally it would die the second i applied the gas, but not this time. After about 5 minutes of idle time, I sucked it up and backed out of the driveway(first time in two months) and had the ol' lady on stand by with the cell phone lol. I was nervous, not gonna lie. Needless to say, car ran great! sittin' sideways for two gears, pulling HARD up to 80 only because I let off, and definitely sounded better. I am sooooo glad I figured this out, I was going nuts not having her on the road with all these nice days. But anyway, in case anyone was unsure:

YOU MUST TUNE OUT THE EGR ON OBD2 CARS IF DELETED!!!

Anyone who replies with "no kidding" or " i already knew that"... where the hell were you two months ago!?! j/k

Never heard of that before, Ive removed it from 2 cars on this site and never had any problems. It just threw a code which was later tuned out.

weird.. were they LS's?? It may be different on them. But my neighbor first told me about it.. came and looked at the car and asked where the EGR was. TOld him I removed it and whatever, and he said that's why it's not running. He said have someone tune it out and you'll be good to go. SO I did, and I was. Then PCMFORLESS confirmed it. But yeah, i know things don't always happen that normally should, like in your case. But this is more of a general rule of thumb. and yeah Michael, Imma change that sig now,lol.

It's weird that the EGR delete would cause such a problem, but obviously it can I'm curious as to why it would on late LT1 motors though...something in the tune?

Very true.. 93's are a whole different animal with the speed density mode, OBD1 connector and all that jazz. I think people combine the 94/95's with the 96/97's because they all have OBD2 connectors. We obviously know that pre-96 are OBD1, but the fact that they use the OBD2 connector, I think, causes people to put them in the same category sometimes. But they are again, two totally different animals, as I am continuously made aware of on what seems like a daily basis

getting ready to put the longtubes on tomorrow, picking up a brand new ORY from a user on here tomorrow as well. I already unbolted the stock Y from the manifolds, but what size is that bolt that the Y connects into toward the rear? 13mm?? the one right by the crossmember thingy that connects to the floorpans. It's so rusted I cant tell. might just cut it off.
Either way, I also installed my 160F tstat today, a new CAI setup, putting in new Bosch iridiums tomorrow, along with new 8.5mm MSD wires and the headers and ORY. should be a fun day, can't wait I also have the stage 8 locking header bolts as well as new Fel-pro steel gaskets.
My PCM was tuned for all of this, so I better get it all on there before the car starts hating me.. again.
Really wanted to put some poly or solid motor mounts in while doing all this. would surely be the best time, but whatever.
Any useful tips for the install before I embark on this journey???

Wish I could offer some words of wisdom but the only time I've installed headers is with the engine out of the car
