I'm just wondering if over the last few years there have been any improved shifters released for fourth gens... I've been happy with my Pro 5.0 until today so I never paid attention.
My cousin brought a new challenger RT over that was a test vehicle for a new hurst shifter they are considering offering as an option, he wanted me to try it out. Looked similar to this but with a more factory looking knob:

My conclusion: This was the easiest car to powershift Ive ever driven in my life. The throw on couldnt have been more than 3-4" from first to second, even with a full length handle. I was even getting rubber in 4th with that heavy pig. I told my cousin if I were to buy a challenger equipped with that option it would be coming back for a lot of warranty work.
Anyway, its made me re-think my pro 5.0. I can rip the gears with it, but it takes a considerable amount more effort (throw) than that challenger's did. The throw is too long but I don't want the handle any shorter. I like a normal length handle. Does anyone here have the hurst billet plus? How is the throw on that? Or are we pretty much stuck with whats available based on the constraints of the T56 design?
