  • LT1 valve cover options?

Just curious what options are out there for LT1's.
I just put my engine back together today and am having a little clearance issue with the stock valve covers. They were trimmed already on the supports but the new, bigger valve springs are barely clearing the supports. Not to mention the stock covers are rusting. So, I'm looking for some that don't have any supports on the inside. The Canton ones look nice but I can't find a picture of the inside to know if there's any support stuff inside. I'm open to other suggestions.

Unfortunately there isn't a lot of options if you still have the alt in the stock spot.. the cantons are nice, just pretty bulky, i know there are those composite lt4 ones?? i have my alt down low and actually still have my stock ones.. i just like the way they look lol. they are clearanced for my 1.6 rr and iv never had a problem. but if you move your alt you have lots of room for normal sbc vcs

I too prefer the stock valve covers.

ALT relocation is something I will look into one day.

me too for some reason.. i was so close to buying some tall polished ones.. but i pulled my stockers off yesterday so they can get powdercoated instead.. as for the alt relo what one are you thinking of doing?? i love the way it cleans the bay up but no ps is not as fun as i thought lol.

I like the composite ones, but their becoming kind of rare so people are trying to charge as much if not more then the cantons, and the cantons are already a pretty penny

x2 on cantons... just love the way they make the engine bay look. Cracks me up when I see a stock LT1 because it looks like it sits so much lower in the engine bay but then I remember it's just the cantons that make it seem that way.

I need to find myself a set of composites - I almost bought a set of cantons but they are too bulky looking to me.

                  Thanks for the replies guys.
Do the Cantons have the braces inside? That's my main concern (clearance).

The Cantons dont have braces on the inside. They are some really nice valve covers. I still have a set of these that I would like to get rid of.
