  • 1995 Z28 Temp guage not working + no heat

As it says above, just got car noticed that guage does not move and I blow cold air. Guy who owned it before installed a second aftermarket temp guage and it also dont seem to work. Anything I should check other than the wires and sensor?

is the aftermarket gauge going to the same sensor? Or did he take the plug out of the other cylinder head and install an additional one?

There's two temp sensors - one in the driver's side cylinder head and one in the waterpump. The driver's side cylinder head's sensor goes to your gauge cluster, the one in the waterpump goes to the PCM and commands when the fans turn on. If your gauge cluster's temperature gauge doesn't work, check to see if there is a sensor in the driver's side cylinder head. Also trace back where the aftermarket temp gauge is getting its reading from. As far as the car always blowing cold air, check your coolant levels, check the thermostat as mentioned above... if not, it could be the heater core.

Heater core could be plugged up. Heater cores are fun, dash = rip apart.

I was able to get the heat working, still no luck with the guage. Did notice that the aftermarket one is not even hooked up so thats why it wasnt working lol.
