The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. When I had my car tuned I had them bring it down but the sensor must be broken because it will go to 240+ and do nothing. Scares the hell out of me when I see it that high. Car usually runs at the second mark. 180?
There are 2 sensors on an Lt1. 1 on the front of the water pump 2 wires. This one controls the signal to the PCM to turn the fans on and off. 2 is on the drivers side of the block and has 1 wire this one sends signal to temp gauge. The PCM can be programed in concert with the thermostate 160* to turn on the fans.
Nate keep in mind though that the slp fan switch unit may have crippled the signals to the PCM. shbox.com has wire diagram for signals and where to tap in for manual switch. This should help you.

Yeah depending on how the fan switch was tapped, it might be overriding the PCM's signal. I have a 160* thermostat and Steve put it in the tune. My temperature gauge never goes above 180.
