My 94z28 M6 has a 110 mph speedo... why is this? Is that even a factory option or is it possible that the guy before me put that in there because of calibration issues when he installed the posi rear end?

Does your tach work right? It sounds like its a v6 cluster cuz I'm pretty that's what mine was till I switched to a z cluster

Some of the z28's (one that came with 2.73's IIRC) came with 110's. I bet your shift selector goes PRND32 not PRND321 doesnt it?

Then that means it didnt come with z rated tires from the factory, also probably has the crappy 2 piece steel drive shaft(which was not rated for high speeds)

I know V6 cars came with 110 gauges, and 2 piece drive shafts but IDK Z28 had that.

There are for sure a fair share of Z's with 110 gauges. I know f bodys had 2 piece shafts, I am ASSuming it was not just a v6 thing.

This is causing me to wonder though, was your car a stick from the factory? I am aware of a lot of this info for auto's. But I dont think ive heard an M6 car with anything weve discussed here.

Is the 8th digit of your VIN "P"? (just to find out if your car originally had the LT1) ... My car originally had the 2.73 posi rear, doesn't have an "1" on shift selector (auto), but still has the 150 speedometer ... I thought the M6 cars came with the 3.42 rear.

As far as I know, the 2 piece shafts were only on the v6s.
