  • air/fuel ratio guage ?

im gona put a dual pod set up on the a pilar and want to put a air fuel ratio guage in one of the spots. What is involved in installing one of these? does it hook into your O2 sensor or pcm? i have never installed one of these.
    Thanks, Trevor

Depends on which one you get. If it's a true wideband, it will have a controller (computer) you will have to mount somewhere as well as the wideband O2 and display unit.

If it's one of those worthless cheapy narrowband ones for under $200 you will just be wasting your money.

Yeah, a normal air/fuel gauge isn't worth it.
Get a wideband if you really want to know your air/fuel

a normal narrowband one like I have you just tap into a wire by the PCM to get the signal and then that goes right to the gauge. Pretty easy to install. Worth it is another question, when WOT it shows it alright but when you are cruising around it is just a light show due to your PCM constantly correcting the A/F ratio and all.

If you want a dual gauge pod and gauges give me a PM and I can get you a price on them.

            +1 for wideband only...

are you running a FI set-up or anything crazy that you would want one? I just check mine with a wideband on the street for a few miles and on the dyno for 3 runs and she looked ok...
