  • Security light?

    I just replaced my steering column in my 98 z28 and now my security light is on and my ignition wont engage my starte, idk what to do

      Did you replace the ignition for a new or used one? If so, it's your vats. It doesnt recognize the key.

      On a side note, my 99 I just sold, it's license plate was BA LS1. lol

        Your BCM is programed to get the amount of resistance from the key, when that happens it allows the TDR to ground the starter relay which allows it to fire. It also tells the PCM to let the injectors do there job.

        If the BCM doesnt get that resistance that it wants...it flashes your security light and you sit there in anguish.

          this happened on my 95 camaro... had to have it towed to a dealer to have it reprogrammed... not fun
