Did you keep the old hood insulation??? If so it's not to hard to recover it, I did my Lincoln Mark VII's and most people wouldn't be able to tell.Originally posted by 90Formula305 View PostMice made a stinky mess of the hood insulation on my thirdgen Formula. I wish I had pulled it off or had traps set under the car before the arrival of the mice. I pulled it off after the damage but the hood does not look nice with it off as GM did not cover over the primer around the braces.
I know this is a very old thread but I just found it via Google when looking for advice on my insulationWest Michigan Pontiac Club

Summit has a hood insulation kit that has a reflective face to it. Looks pretty good from the pics and is roughly $60. It's cut to fit and I believe it has a strong adhesive backing to it to make it simple. You may want to try that.Originally posted by 90Formula305 View PostMice made a stinky mess of the hood insulation on my thirdgen Formula. Depending on the color of the paint, and how often you drive the car, over time the paint can be damaged from the heat if you don't replace it.Originally posted by Redd8407I WANT NOISE! SPEED! I bought an inexpensive replacement that appears to be identical to the OEM one when it was new. The old one could not be saved after the mice urinated and defecated in it.
BTW, I had a 1985 Buick Century that had paint peal off directly above the AC receiver dryer due to heat from AC component and due to poor quality OEM paint. The hood was insulated.sigpic
