  • Does your car vibrate?

I am wondering how much everyone elses car vibrates?

My stick vibrates a bit, not as bad as other cars but it does move. Trans mount looked like new when we did the clutch.

My big issue is the passenger seat when no one is in it. The thing vibrates like crazy. Ill try to get a video up in the morning. I had my dad ride in it and he said it felt fine when in the passenger seat.

I know it could use new suspension, its got DeCraptons with 50k on them. Besides a driveshaft is there anything else I can do to get the seat to calm down? Seems to be worse now that I have 17's.

All the little stuff is bugging the heck out of me. Give me some ideas, hopefully cheap

My passenger seat does the same thing when nobody is in it. It got really bad when I put the 18's on it.

could be tire out of round or just weak shocks. If its not the drive shaft then have your wheels high speed balanced.

Did you try rotating the tires front to rear to see if it gets worse or better? You can also put large hose clamps around the drive shaft in different spots to see if it helps the vibration or not. If it does help it then you need to re balance the drive shaft.
If the car has been lowered at all, then the drive shaft might be to long or the drive shaft angle could be wrong also. There are a lot of articles out there about setting up the pinion angle.
Here is one of them. http://www.carcraft.com/howto/91758/index.html

I got my wheels and driveshaft balanced and it helped quite a bit. Before that it felt like a back massage at 70 mph

Have you put subframe connectors on the car? When i bought my vert it had 54k miles on it and it vibrated and moved around a bit. took it to my front end shop figuring it needed some front end parts and an alignment. Tech told me every thing was AOK. I put new lca's and panhard bar along with 3 point bolt in subframe connectors and it toned things down at least 50%. But then its a vert and they tend to "move" a little. Planning on new shocks this year, it still has the orange DeCarbons on now.
