  • Question for guys with LCAs and Relocation Brackets

So I finally got to installing my stuff today, and I ran into a slight issue. There are two sets of holes on the bracket to bolt the LCA into. I assumed that because my car will be lowered, I should put it in the lower holes. When I tried to put it in place, the holes didn't line up. I then put it up to the upper holes, and even then the holes didn't line up perfectly. The bolt needed some...er...convincing to get in there, but I got it hooked up ok.

Note that the LCAs are non-adjustable. Is it ok that they're mounted in the upper holes, even though the car will be lowered about 1.5"?

Unfortunately you are kinda stuck with that until you get some adjustables LCA's on there. That's the nice thing about the weld on brackets, you can position them so they are in the same swinging arc as stock...so you can mount the LCA's in any position without adjusting the length of the arms.

Yep, the hole is straight down so it is slightly farther away than the stock location. And FYI, I just put mine in on the lowest hole and no complaints here. Also, why doesnt Umi put the grease zert on the back of the lca? I'm afraid I'm going to knock mine off.

I know there really isn't anything I can do about it right now. I was mostly wondering if it's ok that it's this way.

Well these LCAs are Founders Performance, not UMI.

Ok, scratch my Umi reference. I wonder why all the Aftermarket companies put it on the bottom

I bought BMR adjustables and have mine in the bottom holes.. I used bolt on relo's and then welded them in after installation.. But I didn't even have to adjust my LCA's, they dropped right in the bottom hole..

IMG00028-20110513-1718.jpg Mine are non-adjustable UMI with bolt on relocation brackets. The car is lowered around 2" in the rear and I don't remember having an issue lining them up.
