Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
Anybody done this to your 4th gen? Did you notice any differences? Noise, vibration ,etc. At what power level should you be worried about tailshaft breakage?
Just wondering if its worth $239?

yes I did it and I thought it was a great mod. I have really done any serious launch with it but it seems like pinon angle was easier setting it and you can adjust instant center with one which is pretty cool. I have the UMI relocation x member.
I was wondering if it would help 60ft times? I have UMI torque arm
I don't see it making a drastic change in 60' at your power level, but taking that strain off the tailshaft should mean more in that sense. The faster your car gets the more adjustment the IC has the better.

To be honest, I didnt really have a choice but to get it since i went th400, but I was going to do it for the 60e anyway.
I just really do not trust having that arm attached to the trans, I seen spencer break his tailshaft off on the dyno and even though it was probably due to the bad trans mount, it wouldnt have happened if there wasnt a torque arm connected to it.
Its more of a peace-of-mind thing for me. But to answer your question, yes I think it will. Its basically solid mounted to the frame at that point and it will take all slop out of it, making it much more stable and being able to plant the tires more consistently
I guess it's the only thing in the driveline I havn't changed! I will get one this week. Going to Stanton next sat I will put it on after I go and see if there is any improvement in 60 next trip out

Yes. That was ugly. Had me checking the underside of my car a few times.
This was perfect timing for this thread as I have been on the fence about the relocation crossmember myself.
I ordered a UMI Adj. Torque Arm and the Relocation Crossmember yesterday.

yeah I know. I was always worried about that damn torque arm too, then the first car I seen on the dyno was spencers... I was a little nervous putting my car on it after seeing that
Your nervous! I cant believe I have the balls to do it again! lol I want to relocate mine, just because of last years incident. But im a cheap bastard, so it probably wont happen till next year.
Sure would be nice if my car could avoid a trailer this year. Every year for the last 3 years my cars been brought home on a trailer from somewhere at some point in time....
