  • 3.8L heater core hoses

Ok so things have been going well on my firebird project, but i did have a minor setback today (well actually a while ago). There is a coolant hose that goes from the water pump to the heater core that is always in the way of things and therefore was already heavily abused from previous mechanic service. I didnt think it was in usable condition anymore as i found a hole in it, so I disconnected the hose at what I thought was a coupler. Well according to parts stores this was apparently not designed to be disconnected even though i had no problem doing so. Does anyone know anything about these or have any suggestions? Can i reconnected this part of the hose if i can find a used one or do i need the complete unit? The only "new" option I have is both complete hoses from the dealer for $175. I'm thinking ill try finding one in a junk yard but wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions here first.

Picture of said hose and connections:

Apparently I dont have your number, pm it to me. Also, shoot me a pic of whatcha got so I can make sure the 99 hoses will work. But judging by your pics, they look the same.

No spencer I never got a text from you. I'll check my phone.

There was no way i was getting a torx bit to stay in there. I tried for about a half hour and just resorted to cutting the bracket!

You have re-text, lol. Your number had a + in front of it, not sure if that had anything to do with it or not, but I got rid of it, lol. LMK.

Yet another item that is becoming scarce for the 3.8 Fbody. Add to that list thermostat housings. Learned that one after accidentally throwing mine away...
