top pic is 99+ ls1 block and bottom is 97-98?

was reading about this in one of my ls performance books and saw this and just googled it. whats the chance my 98 has a 99 block? cause the top pic is identical to what mine looks like

probably not that unlikely, i have 241 heads stock in my 2000 which where 01-02 heads.

If your 98 was built late in the model run (summerish) this isn't really uncommon. Then again, don't trust EVERYTHING that you read in these books. ALL of them have mistakes of some kind.

When in doubt, Whip it out !
