Picked up my 243's last night. Thanks Steve!

Whats the best product over the shelf that I can use to clean them up? Dont want to damage anything.

      Simple Green works pretty good...

So what just use a terry towel or a scotch brite and scrub away with simple green?

Or submerse the head in a bucket with simple green and let it soak for a day or so?

depends how bad they are...got pics?

i've used mineral spirits too if they're really nasty. wire brushes, old tooth brushes, whatever it takes...

I put the valves in with the springs, turned the head upside down with old plugs in them, and poured fuel injector cleaner into the chambers. Let them sit for a few days and then used a toothbrush. Worked ok.

I've had good luck with lacquer thinner and a bristle brush. Also can use aluminum mag wheel cleaner to etch the casting to make it look almost new.
