  • Oil leak

I have this oil leak, and it's really getting on my nerves because It's getting the Opti wet. Only drips when running, so far I have replaced the OPti, opti seal in the timing cover, and the water pump shaft seal in the cover. This bothered me because it's a lip seal and it inverts when installed. Anyone else have a problem like this ever?

The front of the manifold is not leaking by the way...

What I can't figure out is after ump-teen years of the tried and true system of ignition why they designed this POS Opti thing.... This is more of a pain in the a$$ than it's worth I think. I am becoming an expert in removal of this system, since this will be try #5 coming up here.....

The leak is on the front timing cover, dripping all down the front, but it's dry above the waterpump where the intake-block seal is, so I ruled that out. I think I have it nailed down to an incorrectly installed water pump shaft seal. My bad. Will try that first and report back when I can.....

Yeah, and good thing too, because I messed up the other one I had and it will come in handy. Thanks Josh!
