  • Putting in an engine and EGR questions

The guy who did my motor swap last year just called me because he's putting in a lt1 and transmission on a 95 Firebird and he's never done it from the bottom so was hoping I could get some info for him.

Can he put the motor and transmission with headers, water pump, etc... as one unit into the car at once? or not?

Also the motor has headers without the EGR, he wants to know what all has to be done to block off the EGR on an LT1.

    Thanks

I don't mean to ask a stupid question, but he knows he'll have to program it out so the SES light doesn't blare out, right? He could remove the bulb, but it would probably be a good idea to do it right. Apologies if it sounds way too elemental. Don't mean it to be.

I have no clue, I think he just wants to know what he all has to remove and block.

Engine can go in complete from bottom, thats why everyone prefers this way.

Remove EGR valve and make or buy a plate to cover hole in intake. remove EGR sol, SES light will be on and can be tuned out.

(In other words - yes, everything hooked up to the engine including transmission, wiring harness, headers, accessories, etc)
