As long as its cold, the system wont be pressurized, so it will just pour out, have your new sensor ready to go, IIRC I used the tape on the last one I did. Coolant shouldnt really be coming out until the sensor is all the way out, and as soon as you get the new one in there it will stop. Not a huge deal.

Ok, I'm throwing in the towel. Changed water temp sensor In pump and no change. I have no way to monitor diagnostics so I guess I have to bite the bullet and pay my mechanic more money. He has to be sooooooo glad I bought this money pit. Really getting fed up with this thing.LT1's are like Stonehenge, Total Mystery, But I'm sure I'll figure it out........

Well, i tried to get a video of it running, but i went out 30 mins after I shut it off and it wouldnt startOriginally posted by sman View PostHave you tried running the car with the o2 sensors unplugged?
Can you get a video of it running erratically?
Fuel pressure good?
Any CEL?
so i took a video (just for the sound, video is of the hood lol) I have no idea what the clicking sound and the beep coming from under the hood are??? If I ever get it running again I think Im going to put a little orange sign in the rear window. I just cant justify keeping this thing, its a nightmare on wheels. P.S. I have no way of checking fuel pressure and hate to admit it, but no clue what a CEL is??? No SES light though.

OK take a deep breath, raise your right arm and take your left hand and grab ahold of your self! LOL. Start over like new problem, I mentioned alt could take out battry.
1. measure battry voltage start car, measure voltage at the battry. ( use minus of battry and also measure from plus to car grd terminal. if they are the same its good you don't have a grd problem.
2. with that being a new battry after starting car I would expect voltage to be 13.5 to 14.0 volt for few min then stay at 13.5.
3. There are 2 temp sensors which one did you change? One operates the gauge and one sends signal to PCM. I don't expect either as the problem.
4. Start the car run it to operating temp. keep track of what happens, is thermostat opening (feel hose from water pump to rad.) will get warm when therm opens and water circulates.
5. Is this when engine stumbles and runs bad? What is temp guage in car reading?
6. PCM may have to relearn idle because of battry change,
Keep notes and post back answers and we will help sort this out. When did this all start after car set for a while?sigpic

If you're talking about the "ding" noise, that's because you have your door open with the keys in the ignition......
Something about the cranking doesn't sound right to me, but it's hard to diagnose with just a video and not hearing it in person.- Brian Meissen

Holy Crap, I shut my car off today and I heard a whoosh kind of noise, I took the rubber boot between the MAF and the throttle body off and its all cracked and dry rotted and the bottom is all buckled in under the hose clamp!! Could this possibly cause all the problems im having? Vacumn leak? Air coming in AFTER the MAF and the Air temp sensor so computer doesnt compensate correctly???? If this has been the problem I spent 80 bucks on for O2 sensors, a coolant temp sensor, and 4 frustrating hours in my garage......
I've been looking on-line and I cant find the boot nor do I know the part number, any help?????

Very possibly so. When the car warms up it enters closed loop, and starts using MAF readings, if theres additional air coming in not read by the MAF the AFR is probably all over the place, and the computer doesnt know what to do because when it looks at the tables and sees whats supposed to happen when it does something isnt happening, its probably not happy, at all.1999 Camaro - 6 liters of fury.....

I know I've heard people using fernco (I think that's what it's called?) for "smooth bellows" -- you might be able to find something that'd work there? If not -- it'd be more money but you could buy a new metal intake elbow instead of the stocker and it'd come with the seal for the throttle body and the maf I'd imagine.
It'd be awesome if that's all it really was -- and think of it this way, while you might not have had to change the o2s and all the other stuff, atleast now you know they're new and in good working order!- Brian Meissen

that elbow could defiintely be the issue. i just looked and dont have any more. put up a want ad on here. i'm sure someone has a spare laying around. like spencer said, when air comes in after the maf, the computer doesnt know what to do.98 z28, m6, monster clutch, eibach pro kit, custom twin turbo setup, 317 heads, z06 valve springs, arp rod bolts, 512rwhp at 10lbs. cobra eater

I hope so, I ordered one yesterday, 65 bucks shipped UPS. Fingers crossed, but it will probably turn out to be a $180 ECU or a $140 ICM or something. If it wasnt for bad luck, I wouldnt have any at all.Originally posted by Gaspo View Postthat elbow could defiintely be the issue. i just looked and dont have any more. put up a want ad on here. i'm sure someone has a spare laying around. like spencer said, when air comes in after the maf, the computer doesnt know what to do.LT1's are like Stonehenge, Total Mystery, But I'm sure I'll figure it out........
