Why would someone want to clone a car to make it look like everyone elses ?
    [/QUOTE]

    Thats easy...because it looks good.

I want my car to be a direct 1996 SS clone. I didnt have money for a "real" SS so I am going to do everything my self. Everyone and their brother has a SS hood or spoiler because it looks good. Same thing goes with wheels.

I dont want to be different, I want my car to look good in my eyes.

I don't care what car it is, I will never own one that I feel is "too good to drive." Thats like saying your girlfriend is to good to, well, you know

My point is why do you need a badge on the car? I have a formula, I put a ws6 hood on it because I like it, I put Z06 wheels on it because I like them, When I bought it, it had a WS6 emblem on it, when I had car painted it was removed. At first I was going to leave it then realized what an abortion it would be. 1. 95 there was no WS6. 2. Formy's have different front bumper. 3. wheels are different. 4. It really wasn't a WS6.
So I want it to be me not like everything else. I have more mods planned as time and money is available.

it personally dosnt bother me if you wanted to clone a car. the only problem is if someone was to buy it as a ss or ws6 and was told it was the real deal, that would be pretty shitty on the sellers part but also stupid on your part by not checking the #s for yourself. it really boils down to the individual who either owns the car or the buyer, that your going to make the car there own no matter what.

i bought my car as a SS clone. do i like the idea, No, but that is what the previous owner did. im still not sure what i wanna do with the badge situation, it looks very good how it is now so i will probably leave it untill i get some different badges.

Its your car so you do what you want I could care less just don't try misrepresenting it as somethings its not during a sale. Mine isn't a WS6 but I don't also don't have that badge on it. I have a WS9 RPO code so that is the badge of choice for me. If they didn't make a WS9 badge would I put a WS6 badge on it? Umm maybe not too sure but if I did who's business is it anyway?

That's what I want to do, but those emblems are expensive! I was really looking for a simple machined aluminum Z28 emblem, but I can't find anything like that. I wanted my emblems to match my wheels, but nobody makes them. I'll probably just get some stock silver Z28 emblems.

I'm not going to misrepresent my car, if I were to make it an "SS Clone", I would tell people that it's a clone. I already own ONE SS Clone (the Monte Carlo), and it's an incomplete clone at that. We never bothered installing the on board air compressor for the auto ride control, but guess what? I don't care. It's still too far from stock for anyone to really care, and if they have something to say about it, I won't be able to hear them over the sound of how awesome the car is.

I prefer to build a car so I can enjoy it. I make it look the way I want it to look, I honestly could care less about what anyone else thinks of my car/me. I won't ever have my car judged, I honestly don't see the point. I might if I get it restored to show-quality, but I don't think I'll go that far with it, it's just a driver to me. If anyone has a problem with something I did to my car, it's REALLY simple. Don't do it to yours.
