Well these are the three auctions I am thinking about, I think the headers are all the same, just different vendors. What do you think?

Im interested in stainless pacesetter knock-offs if anyone can get them for the right price. Not interested in the other stepped design (LPP) though because it wont line up with my exhaust and I also like my spark plug access.Last edited by JoeliusZ28; November 23rd, 2010, 06:54 AM.-Joel

S.S. > Coated... If I were you guys, I would investigate the grade of S.S. used in comparison to the real deal brands like pacesetter, hooker, etc.Originally posted by nascarnate326 View PostThe only thing available is what I posted. Why would you switch?2000 Trans Am l 1967 Firebird

I want a clean engine bay which requires not having AIR fittings I am not using.Originally posted by nascarnate326 View PostThe only thing available is what I posted. Why would you switch?
Meh - not always. Ceramic coating does a much better job of keeping under-hood temps down than stainless steel.Originally posted by Lucky SOB View PostS.S. > Coated.
I'd be fine with coated pacesetters or stainless pacesetter knockoffs. My car doesnt get driven in crap weather, and my coated pacesetters have lasted 6 years already and hardly have any rust on them. Point is, the coating lasts long enough that Im going to get my moneys worth out of them whether they are stainless or not.
edit: as evidence...

and what might look like rust on the passenger side is actually oil from when i accidentally pinched a valve cover gasket a couple weeks ago.Last edited by JoeliusZ28; November 23rd, 2010, 10:28 AM.-Joel

and your reasoning is?Originally posted by Lucky SOB View PostS.S. > Coated...
I prefer a header to keep the heat in the tube. It helps greatly with scavenging. I would take a well-coated header over stainless for sure. If you take care of your car they wont rust at all
EDIT: I was also not impressed by the access with the LPP's on dereks carLast edited by ThreeHonks; November 23rd, 2010, 10:51 AM.

Ceramic coating over Stainless all day long. As Ryan stated keeping the heat in the pipe helps with scavenging, as well as lowering underhood temps. My next headers will be ceramic coated pace setters more than likely, but im always open to other options. The biggest thing that worries me about these new stainless headers out there is the thickness of the tubes. The flanges seem pretty good, but thin tubes will throw a lot of heat, and your starter will feel the effects over time. With that being said, the elcheapo stainless headers do look BEAUTIFUL in a well cleaned and detailed engine bay. The racer in me says CC. The bling bling boy in me says stainless, lol. Currently I am running a set of chrome BBK shorties that have held up VERY well. Im planing on running them on the new motor for the first year or so. We will see how well that one works, lol. Eric L
