          • Two updates today:

            1) I got a good start on prepping my new chrome wheels over the weekend, nothing worth taking pictures of though.

            2) tonight I started on another project. This has turned out to be more work than i expected, but not bad by any means... just slow and painstaking. I also discovered that manual and power door panels are EXACTLY the same, just one panel has a hole poked through the fabric. The hole in the MDF is already there on my existing panels.

I can also clear up the MYTH that crank windows are not any lighter than power windows. The crank setup is basically the exact same regulator minus a metal mountingl bracket and the power window motor itself. (However plus a plastic handle). Were looking at maybe a 2 pound difference per door tops but I'll take what i can get since id do this for simplicity's sake alone anyway. Also the manual regulator has more weight-reducing holes drilled in it... why i have no idea.

Damn that seems like a real waste of time if you're not really losing any weight from it. Good news for anyone else looking to do so. Personally I think its a pain in the ass reaching over while driving trying to roll down the passenger window. Especially if you're going to have race harnesses squishing yur ass in the seat

Not any worse than what im doing right now having to push the door open so the window motor works. I also plan on removing power locks and power mirrors in the future, so collectively it should make a difference. I do not care about things being driver friendly on this car. thats not what i have it for and crappy GM plastic never was in the first place if you ask me. I just dont want a gutted car.

Darren, tint is on my to-do list as well

                    • Make sure your windows are adjusted properly after you swap in the manual regulators, I had 2 driver's side manual window regulators go out on my '94 V6 'maro in less than 6 months when I had it. I think they just weren't adjusted properly, anyway. . .

                              • I think it is funny how you are removing things that the original owner paid EXTRA for.

Your running out of time! your show is in what 2 weeks?
