  • Need Help ASAP

    I need help ASAP.

I started installing my Pace Setter headers thinking I could get it done today.

The problem is I only have the driver side on now. Only 2 bolts go in right, one is really tight and the other bolts won't even go in. I need help finishing my exhaust because I need my car. Also trying to fit the rest of the exhaust isn't gonna work because on the driver side its gonna hit some kind of support.

I just read you need to replace the motor mounts to get them to fit properly. Is this true? I have 103K on my car now and I'm sure they are original motor mounts.

    Can anyone lend a hand?

I work Mon - Fri till 4pm. Tomorrow I have a doctor appointment at 4:30 after I am free.

    Thanks.

At this point in time I am really considering calling my car quits for this year. Drop the front subframe out and taking the motor and putting the subframe back into the car and getting her ready to store.

I didn't have to take my motor mounts out at all, and my car still has the originals with 168k miles on them. . . Still in there, absolutely zero problems from them.

Weird, I thought LPP Stainless Steel headers were the only ones that had fitment problems...

I had NO issues with my Pacesetters as far as fitment goes. I was actually very pleased with how easily everything went in. Only thing that was a problem was the steering linkage, and that only held me up for about 5-10 minutes. I had the install done with only about 10 hours of actual work. The old manifolds coming out was the easy part, getting the passenger side header in place was easy after I pulled the oil dipstick tube, the driver's side wouldn't go in unless I pulled that steering linkage.

I was posting it mildly tongue-in-cheek since everyone acts like LPP headers are the only ones that don't just "slide right in."

I only do that to get the exhaust in there.

Well I removed the steering linkage got the driver side in but like I said feels like one bolt cross threaded and the other bolts won't go in. Gonna put a punch on and see if the holes are lined up. I'll be working on it today after the doctors. Pm me for my number if you wanna help.
