  • Trans and torque arm mounts

Ever since i put the converter and shift kit in I'm sorta feeling some movement when going out of park, etc. Figuring that the trans and torque arm mounts (which are probably original) could use updating. Stock or poly, would like to hear some opinions. Also, what kind of a job is this (99 z28 vert). Thanks

Best thing I ever did was bought a spohn chassis mount torque arm. Taking that stress off the end of the transmission completely changed how my car launched, My trans used to make weird noises and move around to with a stock location torque arm. I tried poly mount tranny mount, no go for me, I could not go over 35 mph before the car vibrated soo hard it was unreal..

I still have the stock torque arm with stock mount, but I installed a poly trans mount yesterday, and I couldn't believe the difference it made! The car feels much tighter now, it doesn't jerk on upshifts. . . I've been driving around for I don't know how long with a bad stock mount, so the Poly is a welcome addition to my vehicle. I'm going to get a chassis mounted TQ arm soon, since I've heard nothing but great things about them.

I'm also going to be replacing all the bushings in the suspension with polyurethane ones, I got a chance to drive a friend's car before and after he upgraded his suspension, it was a night and day difference!
