The end result is the motor is junk. Im looking for help finding the cheapest used, reman, whatever LT1 or anything else that will work (dont really want a v6). I need it cheap and I need it A.S.A.P. please help, Im out I'm desperate and my Wife is no fun to live with right now after spending 3 grand on a car I got to drive 60 miles before it died.

Check out craigslist. They usually have a metric shit ton of LT1s for sale on there. Most are over priced, but they come WAY down once you talk to them. Eric L

Also, what are my engine options? I am looking for the quickest, easiest solution. it is a stock auto tranny, Im not sure which LT1 will work or if multiple ones will work. The 95 have a vented opti but if I buy a reman, it should all come complete. I guess I'm wondering what my engine options are that are as close to "Plug and Play" as I can get. My mechanic said he will charge 0 labor to do the swap due to the debate we are having.LT1's are like Stonehenge, Total Mystery, But I'm sure I'll figure it out........

If you're going for closest to plug and play, you need a 1995 LT1. It can come from an FBody (Camaro, Firebird) or it can come from an Impala but if you go with an Impala you'll need to change the accessories. The most plug and play you can get would be an FBody '95 LT1.- Brian Meissen

Why don't you fix what you have. Pull engine and see if rod or main bearings are bad. Sounds like oil pump went or bearings were already on their way out that is why you had low oil pressure. It is conceivable that bearings were burning up and caused engine to over heat.
Keep in mind that if you buy a used engine you could be in same situation again. You could save a lot by doing it your self.sigpic

Larry is right, ask soul terror about used motors and installs. They can go very wrong sometimes. Eric L

The install and the motor itself was no problem. The original motor for my car was just ****ed! and the guy who put in my motor took his sweet time.
BTW my 96 Formula has a LT1 out of a 94 Caprice and had no issues with it. The engine was complete when we purchased it for $550 off CL.
