  • Interesting race on Woodward

Got into a race on Woodward tonight. Raced a Pontiac G8 GXP. A blue one with a license plate that said "lastgxp". We went off of a light, he left first, and we stayed right next to each other till the top of 3rd gear when we got out of it. Those cars are supposed to run 13.0's at 109 mph. Nice to know my camaro hauls the mail too. 99 z28 convertible, 3.73's, 2800 converter, shift kit, lid, and SSRA cold air intake. Guess those headers and a tune might not be such a bad idea now. Planning on keeping a stock motor (valve covers have never been off, 54k miles).
When in doubt, Whip it out !

Very nice. I ran an Impala SS with a 5.3 in it at Lapeer a few years back. I forget what it ran but I pulled 3-4 cars on him every time. My car only had mild bolt ons also.

I don't think that they are supercharged. They do have the same motor that's in the Camaro SS, I think. Suposedly 415 horsepower.

G8 GT's got the 6.0 L, and GXP's got the 6.2 L. Also, you can get a stick in the GXP.

This information is correct. The 6.2L only puts out 402 hp as opposed to the Camaro's 426 hp
