  • I got some leather today?

Okay so i bought some leather seats today from a 95 convertible camaro and i haven't fit them yet idk if they are the same but i did notice on the seats where the hooks for the seat belts should be there are not any holes drilled for them...is that a convertible thing? Also on the back seat the seat belt holders are diffrent...idk if i should keep them and change the stuff over and drill the holes or if i should just sell them to a convert owner that will use them and not need to modify them...?

Yes, that looks like a convert thing.

    How much did you pay?

I would mod them to make it work. They look to be in really good condition.

Assuming the provisions are there beneath the surface, the problem would be finding the holes and drilling them in the right spot. Guessing and being just a little bit off could look pretty bad.

Yea it feels like they are there under the leather...but i think im going to make a template from my old seats and just double check the measurements a mill times before i go drilling a hole in the seat...?

Wow - you ripped the junkyard off Good job!

If the provisions are there like Joel said, you WILL feel the dimples beneath the leather. When we reupholstered my seats we put the leather on and then had to feel for where the mount was and poke holes through the leather. DO NOT DRILL - just use an ice pick or an exact-o knife and poke a small hole into the leather.

If you're really nervous and want to go an extra mile to ensure you're doing it right, you could always pull the leather off of the seat back and make sure the mounting holes are there. The leather material is only held on by a plastic clip along the bottom of the seat and then velcro holds the leather against the foam.
