  • Junk battery able to simulate bad opti?

If my battery was bad would it show signs similar to that of a bad opti? I took my Z off the road last month because I thought the opti had gone out because it would miss occasionally and the idle was erratic the afternoon before it died and wouldnt start. Then after I let it sit overnight it barked right off and I drove it on the trailer. On Tuesday, I went to try and start my Z and the battery was dead soI put it on the battery tender for 3 days and the dome light didnt even come on. So I took the battery in to get checked and they said it was junk. So I put a new battery in and Voila! it fired right off and I put 25 miles on it without any missing or hesitation whatsoever. So like the title says "Could a junk battery simulate a bad opti?"
Here's a sig with my old ride: (Everyone else has a cool sig I had to do something!)

I would not think so, time will tell the answer to this one. I have seen opti's very erratic, and when your engine is running your altenator should provide the current not the battery.
