Torque Converter Control Problem

Hey all! I thought maybe I'd throw a question out there for those who have updated/hopped up their 3800 Series IIs. I'm having a problem with the cam that I'm running. Apparently, it is sending a misfire signal to the PCM, causing it to play with torque converter lockup, in order to smooth the ride out. Problem is, not a lot of power is getting to the ground because of this? Does anyone have a remedy for this? The biggest problem is at cruising speeds, it seems to "feel" like it's surging. It keeps the speed, but there is a variance of RPM (I theorize because of the lockup being cycled, rather than always on at speed). If this helps, it's been bored .030" over and has the Comp Cams blower cam in it with LS6 springs. Other than this problem though, all is very well with it. I'm hoping there's an idea I haven't thought of yet. Thanks in advance!

Get it tuned so its not missing/looking like a mis. Its structured into every gm pcm to unlock for a mis IIRC.

tuning helps the cam surge which becomes very noticable when the tcc locks up at like 40mph which causes the rpm to be very low

the tcc lockup point normally has to be raised with a larger cam to get out of the surge area if it cant be completely fixed with tuning

Thanks, guys. That help tremendously. I'm gonna find someone who can do this and try to take care of it as soon as possible. 1BADAIR, I could tell exactly what you meant this morning. I can get OD to kick in around 50ish and from that speed to about 45, it REALLY feels bogged. Now to try try to find a tuner that isn't way out from where I'm at. I should be able to find someone for less that what HPT is gonna run me. I went through PCM 4 Less for the PCM and they said they couldn't get a program from HPT in order to fix the problem. Thanks sman also. It would be great to set it up exactly to tune, but we'll see.
