  • Engine detailing pics

Been doing some engine detailing this weekend. Let me know what you think. There are pisc of the breather tube i made going from the pass side valve cover to the TB. The alternator was sanded and polished to resemble a brushed finish. And the valve covers are Black powder coat. Im looking for anyones ideas as to what to do next. Any input is appreciated. Eric L

In the last pic there is proof of my crappy BBK shortie headers, lol.

Again, what do you all think I should do next, cause it seems like it needs something, but I cant put my finger on it. Thanks Eric L

you can delete the throttle linkage cover, but your engine bay looks incredible IMO.

But if I delete the throttle linkage cover, wont it expose my ugly throttle linkage? I guess I could repaint and detail the linkage bracket and throttle arm. Ive thought about getting the intake powdercoated red but im not sue what to do next. Ive also considered polishing the alternator to a mirror finish, but im not sure. Thanks for the compliment Joel. I try, lol. Eric L

You mean covers for the ps, master cylinder, and stuff? Ive thought about that as well. I just dont want to deviate TOO much from stock apperance. The car is pretty rare and very original. I have thought about fuel rail covers, but havent been able to find any good pics of them installed. Thanks Eric L

Passenger wire mod requires drilling a hole into the passenger wheel well and then routing the wires to go between the wheel well and the plastic wheel splash guard. The driver's fuel relocation requires drilling a hole too and relocating the fuel lines to run behind your master reservoir to the fuel hookup locations.

Can kinda see both here - unfortunately I don't have any good pics of the engine bay.

I think it looks great as is. I'm not a huge fan of over the top engine bays.

Yeah, thats kinda what im trying to avoid. I dont want to go over the top. I guess im kinda going for a clean stock apperance. They call it a day 2 restoration. Just like a factory apperance with some mild personal touches. Headers, CAI, etc. I definately dont want to get rid of the ABS. The car is a daily driver that my wife drives more often than me. Things like A/C, ABS, PS, alternator relocation, etc probably wont happen. The wire and fuel line relocation is deff a consideration. That looks real clean. I think my biggest concern is the intake manifold. It just seems to stick out in a sore thumb. And the alternator, I dont know weather to keep it brushed or pull it apart and go psyco with the polish on it. Eric L

I think the alternator looks amazing brushed, polishing seems really stupid to me unless the car is never driven. You spend more time keeping it shiney than you do driving it lol.
