  • Cold air Intake questions

So I would like to get a CAI for my car relatively soon...since I'm going to be doing some pretty heavy modding, I'm not going to go with the cheap ebay crap. Right now I'm leaning towards the K&N FIPK kit, but I'm also considering the SLP one. The only reason I'd rather go with K&N is because it's almost $100 cheaper than SLP.

Does anybody here have the FIPK? What are your thoughts?

I have the SLP, looks a lot nicer then the FIPK IMO. Plus you can paint the little SLP badge to match you color of choice if you have a steady hand. As far as horse power differences between the two I couldnt find anything for you.

The Chevy Camaro was built with a single purpose in mind which it executes flawlessly...Going very very fast in a straight line until your hair catches on fire.

I think that no matter what you do, it will breath better.

I would go with the K&N.

I have FIPK, it sucks up alot of space, its big and bulky and takes up the whole area. Looks like the SLP is way smaller.

which engine do you have? I've got the 3.4, maybe it would make a difference.

I have the K&N and from my experience I would never buy from them again. my car only has around 35k miles and maybe only a few thousand on the intake and the plasic warped and it never fit on the car very well and kept slipping off the mass airflow sensor. buy the slp or something else and save yourself the headache. of course this is on an lt1 car. IMO the slp intake also looks much better than the bulky plastic K&N

Really. The K&N on mine fits perfect. No issues.

yes really , just to get it to stay on I had to use two band clamps on one end or else it slides off with just one.
