  • LT4 single plane intake conversion

    http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-29135/

Anybody ever look into doing this. I am wondering if this intake will work. The motor is a 383 with afr LT4 style 217 cc heads on it. We want to run a single plane intake with either a 4bbl throttle body with a progressive linkage, or an elbow with a LSX style throttle body. What modifications would be nescessary to the intake to make it work with the reverse flow heads? Any input is appreciated. Thanks Eric L

Its going to be expensive once everything is said and done. You are better off calling a company like Advanced Induction and just having them set you up with everything

According to your link, it doesn't look like it'll work. Go into the app. section, it's built for the vortec heads.

I know it wont work the way it sits. Noone makes a single plane intake for an LT1. I just want to find out what the modifications are. I figured the vortec would have the same bolt pattern and port configuration. Thanks Ryan, ill look up advanced inductions. Thanks Eric L

Vortec will fit close, but you really need a custom fabbed intake to get all gains possible.

Advanced Induction will set you up with absolutely everything you need. Send them an email.

If it were an LT1 I think it would be easier, being LT4 heads it will be tougher. There in lies the problem. Eric L

do some searching on LS1 tech. quite a few people, such as taner, have done single planes. He also made a box that sealed the throttle body to his SS hood for a ram air.

ive never looked into it because i want to keep the 'stealth factor' of a stock intake.
