  • Can you re-screen a maf?

I have had a broken maf floating around my garage for about a 2 years now so since i am unemployed i decided i would paint it today. I spent the time prepped it right and came out lookin pretty damn good but i didn't pay attention and realized after i was done it doesn't have a screen. Is it possible to take my stock screen out of the maf i am using now and place it in the new ends?

Another issue i am going to have to figure out is i cant get the maf out of my SLP lid. I have heated it up with the blow dryer and pulled pretty hard but it just wont budge. Any one have any ideas?

Unfortunately I don't think you can rescreen them, as for getting your other MAF out of the lid its just gonna take time and some heat like you were using. Make sure you don't use soapy water though as it may damage the MAF just keep working it and try turning it to break it loose.

I think is gonna be pretty hard to get it off, people use boiling water to get them to soften up, so i think a blow dryer is pretty useless.

Why not just tape off your lid, and paint the MAF thats on the car now.
