yep, most people have to cut the hood. right now mine is probably less than a half inch away from fitting without cutting the hood, so i might be able to flatten the lid some.Originally posted by sman View PostWhy would he have to cut the hood? Ls1 intakes wont fit under the lt1 style hoods?
What no one has noticed yet is that i am using an LS1 radiator support. Lids have been done all the time, but most people make their own ugly radiator supports out of sheet metal. no one has ever made the LS1 radiator support fit under an LT1 hood. (besides the WS6 hood) Im going to.
If you look close, you'll notice the lid isnt sitting on top of the support like it normally does.

lol thats actually the only way i can get the wire to connect unless i modify the harness. Thats least of my concern right now, ive already got at least 6 hours of fabrication into this, and im not wasting any time!!Originally posted by meissen View PostOH I know I know! It's the crooked MAF mod which increase air flow because the wires are going diagonally instead of straight up and down!!!!!
JK Good job man can't wait to see the progress of this LS1 lid.-Joel

you can use the stock one if you cut it in half, but i dont think it looks good at all. The LS1 lid is at least molded to the general shape, even if im not attaching it properly.Originally posted by Purple94Z28 View PostNice work Joel i want to do this to but i thought you can just cut the stock lt1 radiator support but idk looks good tho...and hey if you sell your old intake lmk a cai is on my list of parts for my build.
And unless one of my friends speaks up first the CAI will be up for grabs. Its an SLP unit.-Joel

I was about to say - thats nothing new, I've been running the LS1 lid and radiator support for years... but then realized you still have the LT1 hood. Thats impressive. I took the easy way out - I converted to the LS1 front end with a 4" cowl hood - no clearance issues here

It does, but it is a complete K&N unit, which is a PITA to clean. Thats why I never messed with it, LOL. Plus yours looks a million times better.
