you may be able to reach your hand behind the intake and remove the sensor but I doubt it has enough slack in the wiring to get it out to where you'll be able to test it.

Damn - broke a timing chain... that just doesn't happen out of the blue in my opinion. Crazy! Haha guess your thought that the timing chain jumped 180 degrees wasn't that far off!

Sorry to hear that, man -- I'm sure that's a helluva lot more money than you were looking to spend right now. At least you already had a Plan B in your back pocket to make your Camaro even better than before!

Right on, on the backup plan. I'm freakin fired up for how its going to turn out. I'm just playin it safe and putting those heads on they are just plain jane stock 5.3 heads. little bump in compresion and nice 238/243 .57x/.59x on around a 112 should be a blast.

I have been testing Engines for 25 years and I have never seen a broken timing chain yet!

The bottom turns but the top doesn't.

hmmm the bottom is the crank and the top is the cam, something is seriously wrong by the sounds of it. What were you doing before this happened?

x2? This isnt a rolling down the road type of failure. Only time ive seen this happen with ls motors is at the track or beating on them. Not saying it isnt impossible but, very unlikely.

Yeah, I was WOT at about 4k in 3rd. I have heard that timing chains do fail in these cars.

Gotcha, just from reading I assumed you were just cruising down the road. How many miles on it? Were you spraying? Stock internals right?
