I've never had to spend so much money on brake pads before. I'm use to paying 40-50 bucks for performance Ceramic pads. LT1 brakes suck and it cost nearly $60 just for the front pads. Nearly $60 for the rear as well. The reason I am changing is I want something that will perform a bit better and creat alot less dust. The ones I have on now cake on so much dust its crazy.

The Hawk pads are what everyone recommends. What do you recommend for the rear? I would get some cheap ceramic pads from autozone but even the cheaps ones cost almost as much as Hawks. Who to order from and what should I get for the back brakes?

Well when i did the brakes on my SS, i went with SSBC brakes. for all 4 "swirl" rotors and pads on all 4 corners it was $400 i believe...somehwere around there. they work pretty well, no dust at all...and they look kinda cool i guess.... SSBC is a pretty reputable company as well...maybe look into them? i like mine if that helps ya any!

Putting to much into wheels and tires now. I was just going to get the stock rotors turned and go with some decent pads that don't release to much dust. I will be later upgrading to c5 brakes or Baer. Anything out there a bit cheaper than hawk?

After a track event at gingerman I HAD to upgrade my stock LT1 autozone specials. I picked up a set of Hawk HPS front pads and new stock rotors. Good improvement over stock, and cheap. I think the pads were like $60

Next upgrade is to go to a stock LS1 kit, they have dual piston 12" rotors. You will need LS1 knuckles and brackets, calipers, rotors, brake lines. This will outbrake a LT1 Hawk set-up. And if you want more, add Hawk pads.

Then move up to C5 13" rotors, kit with brackets rotors calipers and all will be about $750.

The Hawk HPS are good street pads, the HP Plus are not that great on the street.

Don't worry about the back brakes, the stockers are fine.

The Thing About Ceramic Is There Not Any Better The Carbon Metallic Until You Get Them Good And Warm But You Will Still Get Brake Dust From Ceramic Pads Just Not As Much Meatl Dust That Creates Rusting And Pitting On Wheels Ebc Make A Brake Pad Called Greenstuff That Are Virtualy Dust Free.also Check Out My Brakes In My Garage We Could Do A Setup Like That With Cross Drilled Slotted Rotors And Epoxy Paint And Pads Under 350 Let Me Know

Well I went with Auto specialty front ceramic pads and Hawks rear ceramic pads. Glad I changed them all because the front and rear were all worn and cracked. The new setup works alot better. The only problem I am having is that I had my rotors turned and the job wasnt that great. I can hear the brakes kinda whisper as they rub on the rotors. I put some miles on them today and the sound is hardly there anymore. That or now my exhaust is louder. Hopefully within a week the pads will seat a bit better into the rotors. SOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooon I will have some sexy wheels bolted on.
