I just bought a new laptop that has no serial port. My tuning cable for tunercat and datamaster has a serial conn. My new computer has a USB. That puts me in quite a pickle, lol. I have heard that some adaptors work, and some do not and I cant get a straight answer that dosent cost over $150.00. Any help would be appreciated. It really cant be this hard can it? I already miss my Serial port. USB sucks, lol. Thanks Eric L

I've used a Radio Shack USB to Serial adapter for the longest time doing remote control programming for my dad, and it's worked great.
The cable my tuner provided to communicate between the computer and the car's computer has a USB end already, so I wouldn't know how it affects the data transfer, but I'm not sure if it would, really.Gone but not forgotten: 1986 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z

you guys have found converters that work for lt1 pcms?
i tried a few and had no luck before. was told that most don't work cause of the baud rate the lt1 pcm uses. not sure if they were just pushing to have the cable sent back and converted to usb
