  • Im an idiot. SO disappointed in myself.

well...to my horror my dad come walking in to my room today and says "please tell me this isnt what I think it is" as he is holding up my air filter. He found it in our car trailer. I took it out when i ran at Milan in early august, and must have left it in there. I didnt even think to put it in before i drove the car home. So thats right. I have been driving with no air filter since august. and i live on a dirt road. and i have an ultra-z ram air hood.

i do NOT want to rebuild my motor for the second winter in a row. Car is showing no signs of problems. When i put it back in, airbox seemed clean actually. Im just worried about dust. Throttle body is fine. So how screwed do you guys think i am? and yes, feel free to bust my balls for doing something like this.

Car is most likely fine. Do a seafoam treatment and forget it ever happened.

Ouch! Face palm! I agree with Mike, though, seafoam it and cross your fingers.

If you are not having any issues by now you should be fine.

Change oil and filter right away!!! Seafoam is also a good idea. If your not burning any oil as of right now, i'd say your fine....

i didnt notice any better times, because i have never run with it in haha. i just figured since i have ram air, the less restriction the better. so ive always taken it out. and good thought on the maf, i havent de-screened it. so im probably ok.

I bet you'd be surprised of how very minimal any difference would be with the filter in or out, I have never even considered removing mine.

Its an engine cleaner for the top end of the motor, you can either put it in the oil for a few hundred miles and then flush it, throw it in your gas tank, or the most common menthod it to pour it through the brake booster hose and let it set for a half hour. After that you go drive the car hard and run it all out which in turn creates a massive smoke show due to all the buildup burning off.
