Maybe your relay is going bad?

Did it just start doing this?

Fuel pump relay - it should be under the hood, or it was in my 3rd gen.

if its the relay it would do nothing so it could be going bad but at the same time my friends 4th gen camaro will crank and crank for like 30 seconds then start and his pump is going out so if i were to guess i bet its the pump but i would test the relay to be safe

I believe the relay is in the kick panel on the 4th gen. Not sure though. Check the wire diagram I believe the VATS picks the relay. So the problem could be associated to the ignition switch also. Easier to check all this 1st, than just replace fuel pump.

Are you saying that your fuel pressure was 40?

I think the highest fuel pump ratings I've seen were 14...most are in the 7ish range...

Have you noticed any problems while the car has been running?

Your pump should hold a steady pressure and shouldn't fall off.

fuel pump relay is under the dead pedal inside the car.

check there for a clean signal from the pcm and battery.

the grey wire goes to the pump/level sender

                            orange is hot

                            green/white is pcm signal

and red is the fuel pump prime connector.

add power temporary to prime the pump

                            http://www.camaroz28.com/forums/show...rime+connector

since you say it run fine, i don't see it being vats, should prevent you from even starting the car

if you are gonna stick with the lt1, hopefully its a 94/95 pcm which is obdi and then you can get tunercats and a cable for 150 bucks. well worth it...its not vin or pcm locked. i still have the program, but no cable
