I ran a best of 12.96 @ 112 this weekend but my fuel pump was dying and i actually lost power momentarily on that run... let alone the fact that my tune is a blind guess until i get a wideband.

here are a couple of vids of my cam

now is there a point where the cam is too big and i would have to get new roller lifters also? becuase i have brand new gm ones and i dont want to buy new ones!! lol also what type of springs do you prefere? i heard beehive are junk?? but i ahve heard they are good too?? gosh there is so much stuff to research for this motor.. but i love the sound of your car.. i would be pleased with that!! i dont think i am going to go for the big cam anymore becuase i dont want to twist my bottom end that much and like you said it makes the car more fun to drive and more streetable.

I want to get a gm847 but I like my cc503 Beehives aren't bad if you don't have radical lift but dual springs is like an insurance policy if you have a lot of lift. What roller rockers do you have?

the 847 is in the 240 range duration... even a cc503 or my cam will want to rev past the stock 6200 RPM rev limiter. Ive seen the 847 shifting comfortably at nearly 7k. I havent changed my rev limiter yet and i hit it every now and then.... whereas i never once hit it before. the AI 230/238 is a nice middle ground between what ive got and an 847, its what i almost went with.

changing rockers is a pretty standard upgrade, but the ones that came with the LT4 kit should work fine if thats what you are talking about. I have beehives on my car. They can handle higher lift and higher RPM than a dual, but if one breaks you dont have any insurance. If you get beehives i recommend the PACs. 1218s or the better 1518s, ive got the 1218s.

On the contrary my buddy broke a dual and didnt even realize it for a good 3000 miles when he drained the oil and found a chunk of spring in it.

I can't contribute much to this thread other than to say I love my all stock LT4! I have driven many LSx engines and I can't say enough of the power band of this engine stock LT4. I know you get some serious numbers out of the LSX engines but I am still partial to the LT series. I do plan on someday doing an LSx conversion but for now I love the LT4.

I am sorry, but I don't have any dyno numbers or time slips yet, I still have some tuning issues as I am running an OBD1 computer from an LT1, thats another story.

BTW, nice find and congrats on the new acquisition.

Go with Patriot Extreme dual springs. They are a VERY good spring and the kit comes with everything you need (all titanium) for about $280. DONT SKIMP OUT ON YOUR SPRINGS

The lifters and rockers you have now will be fine. Although dont shift over about 6200 rpm with those rockers because they are self aligning... self aligning for the lose!

If you leave those heads untouched, find a cam that is somewhere near the specs of joels or similar to the cc503.

I think I saw that for sale on Craigslist. I opted for the cc306 cam instead.
