  • Stupid VATS

So I went up the gas station (about a mile from my house) to get some things, and when I got back in to the TA, it wouldn't start. I thought I licked the problem last year when I installed a bypass, I used to have the problem a lot but it hasn't happened in almost a year. Now here I was sitting in a parking lot for 30 minutes waiting for the VATS to cycle several times before I got home.

My question is, is this something that can be taken care of by tuning the VATS out of the computer? I've been thinking about getting a tune anyway, and if I can avoid this problem again, that's all the more reason to do it.

Yeah VATS can be tuned out. If you're looking to do a tune anyway, might as well take the VATS out too.

for you to even start the car and the light be on, it would have to of been bypassed.

It sounds like your problem is in the BCM still.

A VATS problem should allow your car to crank for a few seconds, then shut off due to fuel cut.

Check the wires to the ignition lock cylinder. They may be broken.
