  • Trouble Code P0410

I was driving to work last week Thursday and my service engine soon light came on, now I was just cruising at 76 on I-96, so I got a scan tool and it came up with one code which is P0410: Secondary Air Injection (AIR) System Malfunction. I erased it after I wrote it down. Friday came around nothing all is good. then Saturday can and same thing, normal driving conditions just crusing and it pops up. I erase it and I hasnt thrown it again. I am wondering what the hell this is and any ideas that you guys may have. I am not worried about it now since its driving perfectly. Its just bothering me that I dont know what it is.

has something to do with the catalytic converters. ive removed mine and had it deleted from my ecu along with the rest of the emissions. not a big deal though unless you want to keep everything stock. wish i knew a little more info for you. the pump and everything is under the drivers side headlight.

I got this letter from GM that the original owner gave me and it states that I can get the CC and O2 sensors replaced free of charge before 100,000 miles, it says that it is not a recall but if the vehicles orginal CC's fail then they will fix at no cost to me. so I am thinking about doing that. I want the CC's gone but not in a big hurry right now

It's an AIR pump error, not cats. Either the AIR pump wiring is shorting out somewhere or your AIR pump is going bad. I read one case where the air pump would only work when cold - when the engine bay warmed up, it'd throw a code. Either case, remove the AIR pump and have it tuned out.
