I believe that the mech. gauges require fluid lines ran to gauge (leak and fluid all over) while the elec. uses a sending unit to convert (just wires) maybe look at summit or autometer, see if install for gauge is listed?

First off, if you want mechanical, I WOULD NOT use the cheap ass plastic line they give you for it. I'm using a rubber line thats good til like 30,000 psi or something. And also when you use a line that big, it shows every little movement of the pressure. However, I don't think you will be able to run a large line like that up to a pillar. Cehck out 6litereater designs. He makes plates that go where the a/c vents are so you can put gages there.

Oh, and you don't need an isolator for oil pressure. I don't run one in my car except for fuel pressure. I haven't had a problem yet.

The only mechanical gauge I'd run to inside the car is a boost gauge.

Personally with those, I'd use electronic gauges (they utilize remote senders).

Check out the ES series. The are LED compared to other series that just light up around the gage. They are much easier to see at dark. I have ES boost gage and wideband in my pillar and Sport Comp oil pressure, fuel pressure, and trans temp in the a/c vents.

Don't they make full pillars for the car? I know they did for the Third Gen.

My Cobalt also has a full pillar.
