  • Need help with cruise issue

Alright I am having issues with my car. It idles fine, goes WOT fine, but if I am cruising at around 55-60 and holding the gas steady for a few minutes, the A/F ratio will go way lean or way rich until I tap the gas or let off the gas. Does it just when holding throttle steady at cruise speeds.

Engine also hangs around 2k a bit when I rev it in park before it settles down.

I replaced the IAC valve, hooked up the smoke machine to look for vacuum leaks and not finding anything.

One idea is maybe the PCV valve is leaking air. Could this be a possibility? I have a log of my last 15min ride for those that have hptuners to look at as well as the current tune.

    Injectors are 42.5s
    3.8l v6 built engine with h/c/i

I also tested the injectors and all of them were between 16.3-16.7ohms which is correct

Are there any small vacuum leaks? I know there's a lot of polished stuff, but you may try to spray small shots of carb cleaner around the lines and such to see. Perhaps an injector O-ring isn't sealing correctly?

no leaks on the outside, did the smoke machine in it as well as starting fluid method to check that

Hmm. Is your diag showing anything when it does this, other than the a/f ratio changing? I also once read that it's better to get the air temp sensor as close to the air filter, so as not to pick up engine heat and give a false reading, leading to driveability probs.

IAT sensor is built into the corvette MAF that I run, incoming air temp is correct.

The scans really don't show a major change that makes the a/f ratio go wacky. MAP pressures don't go off kilter or anything like that. The O2s flatline high or low when the a/f ratio goes crazy showing it is way rich or way lean.

I have tried different o2 sensors as well

I'd maybe look into how the intake is flowing. It's probably ok, but it presents an X factor. This is mysterious.
